Christmas Wish List
November 22nd, 2008

With Black Friday approaching, I’ve decided to publish my wish list to make life a little easier for my relatives and friends.
1. Outliers
The new book from Malcolm Gladwell. Seems to be on every nerd’s wishlist. I’m really looking forward to reading this. Available from Amazon.com for $17.
2. New Scientist Magazine Subscription
I’ve been reading the limited content from New Scientist Online for a while now. This is a great way to keep up on the newest in science, tech, and space. Newscientist.com $69 for a year and full access to web content.
3. Dell 2408WFP 24in Monitor
I need more desktop space for design work. Bonus: this monitor will double as a HDTV. Available from Dell.com for $517 (on sale).
4. Aluminum Macbook or Macbook Pro
My Macbook is an original CoreDuo (not the newer Core2Duo) and I’ve had it for over two years. It’s been the best computer I’ve ever owned, but it’s time for an upgrade. Available from Apple.com for $1299 for the Macbook and $1999 for the Macbook Pro.

Bellingham Halloween Thriller Dance
November 1st, 2008

Last night something special happened in Bellingham. 50 people dressed as zombies met at the corner of Holly and Railroad to reinact the Thriller dance. My friends and I went down to watch and this was what we saw. I didn’t get to see any of the actual dance because there was a wall of bodies in the way. But, just seeing this many people gathered together, blocking traffic, was worth it. As you can see in the lower image, the blocked traffic became involuntary pedistals for all of the watching people.
There is a very poor video of the event on youtube . I saw other video cameras there so hopefully someone with a steadier hand will post soon.
